LOCKSS Information Sessions

Find out more about LOCKSS digital preservation software, networks, and community!

Our introductory LOCKSS information sessions are held quarterly and open to all. They're a great way to learn about the "lots of copies keep stuff safe" approach to preservation, and a great starting point if you're curious about whether LOCKSS networks are a good fit for your digital preservation needs.

In each one-hour meeting, we review the origins of the LOCKSS project, describe how preservation networks using the LOCKSS open-source software and customized plugins work, and share some of the ways in which different LOCKSS networks are creating community-based solutions for their members' digital preservation needs. LOCKSS Program team members and LOCKSS network representatives are on hand to answer your questions during the session. The information you provide when you register helps us tailor each session and highlight the features and functionality you'll find most useful. Each session is also recorded; those registered will receive a link to the recording after the event.

We do custom information sessions, too! If you'd like to book a presentation on LOCKSS that's tailored for your digital preservation students, library stakeholders, colleagues in the publishing industry, or community partners, we're happy to help. Just email info@lockss.org with your request and desired dates.
