Registration is free, and open to all LOCKSS Alliance members. As in previous years, we need to limit the number of participants from each LOCKSS Network to two. Please let us know if you plan to attend so we can budget appropriately for catering.

9 - 10:15a: LOCKSS Program update
What is the state of the LOCKSS Program? Major activities, new developments, challenges, opportunities, sustainability planning, Advisory Committee, and situation in the strategic landscape.

10:15 - 10:30a: Break

10:30 - 11:30a: Software re-architecture
Motivation, progress, expected outcomes, and implementation roadmap for two-year project to re-architect LOCKSS software as documented, interoperating, modularized web services.

11:30a - 12:30p: Improving community software development
How to foster a more robust developer community, with the re-architected software? How to better align core software development with partner integrations? How Stanford can provide greater transparency and enable more meaningful input to inform prospective roadmap?

12:30 - 1:30p: Lunch (provided)

1:30 - 3:30p: Community updates
Presentations from partners on their initiatives: overview, goals, challenges, new developments, partners they’re working with, community efforts they’re following or engaged with.

3:30 - 4p: Break and mingling

4 - 5:15p: Breakout discussions
What are touchpoints and collaboration opportunities between different partner initiatives? What common needs or interests could the LOCKSS Program and community better address or support?

5:15 - 5:30p: Close out

5:30 - 7p: Reception

8:45 - 9:00a: Canvas ideas for afternoon unconference sessions
Recap day one themes and discussions possibly worth continuing in the afternoon.

9:00 - 10:30a: The community and the market
Reflecting back, soliciting, and discussing feedback for the future of LOCKSS. Evaluating where LOCKSS stands in the larger environment, and how we can work together to improve its community focus, preservation utility, and sustainability.

10:30 - 10:45a: Break

10:45a - noon: What’s next for the GLN?
Detailing specific plans for the enhancement of the original LOCKSS network. Soliciting feedback for other desired improvements.

noon - 1p: Lunch (provided)

1 - 1:30p: Unconference session(s) planning
Unallocated time for the group to determine. Possibilities: new or expanded discussions, presentations, brainstorming.

1:30 - 3p: Unconference session(s)

3:15 - 3:30p: Close out

Accommodations

Comparatively affordable, nearby hotels that we frequently recommend for conference visitors include the Best Western Riviera, Cardinal Hotel, Stanford Inn, and Stanford Terrace Inn.

Other options may be found in either direction along El Camino Real, though this may put you outside of walking distance. Consult the system map for the free Stanford University shuttle or other local transportation options.
